Creating a Quality Performance Assessment
A Framework for Data Transparency
Hyatt: Century II Convention Center Rm 208
Under the new Kansas Quality Performance Assessment regulations school districts are to create a framework for data transparency when developing long range plans using the 5R model. In this presentation participants will learn how to develop a long range district plan using the 5R's assessment rubric. Included in the presentation are ways to define the 5R framework and how to use technology to create a transparent data dashboard.
We are moving away from a punitive accreditation system focused primarily on achievement at the school level. The new model focuses on districts rather than schools. The model is likely to be a four-year accreditation process with an interim year to prepare districts for the process of conducting needs assessments and examining change that the district would like to see occur. |

QUESTION TWO: DATA SELECTION
QUESTION TWO: What data in
your district needs to be transparent when developing a long range Quality Performance Assessment plan?
Data‐driven decision-making has become a long‐standing focus of those in education circles and usually refers to teachers using data to assess students to adjust their teaching practices. However, stakeholders other than teachers are making important decisions about education daily and data transparency and accessibility is paramount for them to do so successfully.
